Arithmetic Grade Six

Lesson One Hundred Fifty: Lines and Points

Drawing Line Segments on the Grid:

The coordinate grid to the left shows three line segments:

  • orange: (-6,5) to (7,5)
  • magenta: (-4,4) to (1,-1)
  • green: (2,4) to 2,-8)
Drawing a line segment on a coordinate grid is easy. First you locate the ends points of the line segment and then you simply draw a line connecting them. When you do this on paper, you might want to use a ruler or some other straight edge to help you draw a nice straight line. Many computer programs make it easy for you to draw straight lines.

Now you get to try a few for yourself.
