Arithmetic Grade Six

Given a rectangle you can now find both its perimeter and area. (The perimeter is the distance around a shape.)


     AREA = 12 x 32 = 384 square units

     PERIMETER = 12 + 12 + 32 + 32 = 88 units

We could also simply describe a rectagle and figure out its area and perimeter like this:


    Find the area and perimeter of a rectagle with
         length: 10
         width:   5

    AREA: 50 square units
    PERIMETER: 30 units
