Lesson One Hundred-Twelve: Fraction * Whole


There are three steps to solve a problem where you multiply a whole number and a fraction.


	2 * 3/5 = 

	1) multiply the whole number and the numerator of the fraction
	   (2 * 3 = 6)
	2) write this number as an improper fraction using the denominator
	   of the fraction
	   (6/5)
	3) convert this improper fraction into a mixed number: 1 1/5
 	   
Here's another problem:

	3 * 4/7

	1) multiply the whole number and the numerator of the fraction
	   (3 * 4 = 12)
	2) write this number as an improper fraction using the denominator
	   of the fraction
	   (12/7)
	3) convert this improper fraction into a mixed number: 1 5/7
