Lesson One Hundred Seventy-four: Volume of Cylinders



Here's another example:


  Find the volume of the following cylinder:

      

  VOLUME = 11 * 3.14 * 42 =552.64 cubic units
  Rounded to nearest whole: 553 cubic units

Here's another example:

  Find the volume of the following cylinder:

      

  VOLUME = 7 * 3.14 * 62 = 791.28 cubic units
  Rounded to nearest whole: 791 cubic units

You should notice that in the process of finding the volume of a cylinder you actually find the area of the circle which forms the base of the cylinder and multiply that by the height of the cylinder.
