Lesson Seventy-six: Decimal Division

Dividing with a two digit divisor is not much more difficult than dividing with a one digit divisor. In this lesson we will work with two digit divisors that are multiples of ten.

	      3 0		the answer is written directly
             ------		above the decimal point in the
		60		dividend.

Here's another problem to consider: 

	      2.24		STEPS:
	   +-------		1. 44/20=2
	20 | 44.80		2. 20x2=40
	     40			3. 44-40=4
	    ------		4. bring down the 8
	      4 8		5. 48/20=2
	      4 0		6. 20x2=40
	    -------		7. 48-40=4
		80		8. bring down the 0
		80		9. 80/20=4
	    -------		10. 20x4=80
		 0		11. 80-80=0 (done)
