Lesson One hundred and Sixty: Perimeter

Jill's house is in the shape of a rectangle with a width of 40 feet and a length of 60 feet. What is the perimeter of Jill's house?
To find the perimeter of a rectangle we just add the length and the width and multiply this amount by two.

	(40 + 60) * 2 = 200 feet

The answer is given as just feet (not square feet or cubic feet) because we are measuring length (not area or volume).

Joe has a swimming pool in his back yard that is in the shape of a rectangle with a width of 15 feet and a length of 30 feet. What is the perimeter of this swimming pool?
