Arithmetic Grade Five

Adding lengths can require some odd conversions. Look at this example:


        3 yd, 2 ft, 5 in
     +  2 yd, 2 ft, 9 in
    -----------------
        5 yd, 4 ft, 14 in

     SIMPLIFY:

        6 yd, 2 ft, 2 in

Here's another example.


        1 yd, 2 ft, 8 in
     +  1 yd, 1 ft, 7 in
   ------------------
        2 yd, 3 ft, 15 in

     SIMPLIFY:

        3 yd, 1 ft, 3 in

Here's yet another example.


        1 yd, 1 ft, 8 in
     +  1 yd, 1 ft, 4 in
   ------------------
        2 yd, 2 ft, 12 in

     SIMPLIFY:

        3 yd, 0 ft, 0 in
