Subtracting Fractions With Like Denominators
- Numerator: Just add the top numbers.
- Denominator: Leave the bottom numbers alone.
- Reduce, if necessary.
Here are a few more examples:
6/7 + 3/7 = 3/7 7/9 + 6/9 = 1/9
6/18 + 3/18 = 3/18 = 1/6 5/7 + 4/7 = 1/7
