Lesson One Hundred and Fifteen: Fraction Division III

Sometimes the answer to a fraction division problem is a mixed number. Consider the following example:

So, here's another example for you to study:

	ORIGINAL PROBLEM: 9/10 ÷ 2/3 =

	FLIP and CHANGE OPERATION: 9/10 * 3/2 =

	REDUCE (if possible): 9/10 * 3/2 =

	MULTIPLY: 27/20

CONVERT ANSWER TO MIXED: 1 7/20

If you can master all these steps, then you won't have any trouble with dividing fractions. Here's yet another example:

	ORIGINAL PROBLEM: 2/3 ÷ 2/5 =

	FLIP and CHANGE OPERATION: 2/3 * 5/2 =

	REDUCE (if possible): 1/3 * 5/1 =

	MULTIPLY: 5/3

CONVERT ANSWER TO MIXED: 1 2/3
