Arithmetic Grade Five
Lesson Eight: Multiplication Review
The ability to multiply quickly in your head is essential to many common
arithmetic tasks. Relying on a calculator can actually slow you down in many
situations and it is important that you know your basic multiplication facts
in order to progress in your understanding in arithmetic.
The only way to become fast and accurate at doing
multiplication problems is to drill and practice doing them. If you
practice enough, multiplication will become automatic. You won't even have to think
about multiplying. This will save you a lot of time and energy when you are faced
with more complicated problems in higher grades (and even college).
