Lesson One: Addition Review

It is a real good idea to master your basic arithmetic facts. In this lesson we will focus on addition facts. You should practice until you get to the point where you can look at any two single digit numbers and effortlessly calculate the sum. Given two single digit numbers you should almost reflexively know the sum.

Here are the possible combinations of single digits and their sums.

All these addition facts should be in your head and ready to pull out in less than a split second. You should know these facts faster than you could figure them out with the help of a calculator. Knowing your basic facts will make everything else in math easier.
