Arithmetic Grade Four

Lesson One hundred and forty-five: WEIGHT: ounces, pounds, tons

We can measure the weight of something in ounces, pounds, and tons. The ounces we use here are different from the ounces used to measure volume. The terms just happen to be the same, which can be a bit confusing.

            16 ounces = 1 pound
          2000 pounds = 1 ton

Here are some conversion examples between ounces and pounds:

          ounces | pounds
        ----------|---------
           16 | 1
           32 | 2
           48 | 3
           64 | 4
                  |
