Lesson One hundred and eighteen: Mixed to Decimals

Working with mixed numbers is not much more difficult than working with fractions. You can convert mixed numbers to decimal values just like you can convert fractions to decimals. 


    2 1/2  =  2.5		2 1/5   =  2.2

    3 2/5  =  3.4		1 3/5   =  1.6

    2 4/5  =  2.8               3 1/10  =  3.1

    1 3/10 =  1.3		1 4/10  =  1.4
You can figure these out for yourself by finding equivalent fractions with 10 in the denominator, like this: 

     2  1/2  =  2  5/10  =  2.5

     4  3/5  =  4  6/10  =  4.6
