Arithmetic Grade Four
Lesson One hundred and eight: Comparing Decimals
Comparing decimals containing values only in the tenths column is easy.
Adding values in the hundredths column is slightly more difficult. Here are
a few examples:
.44 < .55 .67 > .32 .75 > .31
.11 > .02 .88 > .87 .90 > .89
You should realize that each of the following values are equal:
.80 = .8 .9 = .90 .3 = .30
Which means that:
.8 > .16 .1 > .09 .44 < .5
In the next exercise you will use the right and left arrow keys to point to
the greater value.
