Lesson Seventy-three: Comparing Fractions


Which is greater, 4/5 or 5/6? Look at the following illustration.
1/6 1/6 1/6 1/6 1/6 1/6
1/5 1/5 1/5 1/5 1/5

From this table we can see that 5/6 is greater than 4/5. Remember that cross-products make it quicker and easy to determine which of two fractions is the largest.

Here's another example:
