What is the answer to this problem?
If we count all the dots we get a total of 20 dots. It makes sense then
that the answer to 4 plus 7 plus 5 plus 4 is 20.
Here's another example with dice:
Here we have 4 plus 8 plus 7 plus 3 plus 5.
When we count up the dots we get 27.
