Lesson One hundred sixty-seven: Perimeter

Perimeter is the distance around an object. In this lesson we will deal only with rectangles. Rectangles have four sides. If you add up the lengths of each side of a rectangle, you have the perimeter of that rectangle.

  FIND THE PERIMETER:
   
   

   Perimeter = 28 cm + 28 cm + 20 cm + 20 cm = 96 cm  

 


     

   Perimeter = 15 cm + 15 cm + 21 cm + 21 cm = 72 cm

NOTE:

• The opposite sides of a rectangle are the same length.
• cm stands for centimeters
