Lesson One hundred thirty-five: Comparing Statements

Comparing Statements

There are symbols which can be used to compare two statements:

  > GREATER THAN
  < LESS THAN
  = EQUAL

Here are some examples showing how these symbols can be used:

   40 ÷ 5 > 16 ÷ 4 40 ÷ 8 < 36 ÷ 6

   24 ÷ 6 = 20 ÷ 5 36 ÷ 9 > 9 ÷ 3

Figure out the answer to each of the following:

	72 ÷ 8 (>) 12 ÷ 6

	4 ÷ 2 (<) 81 ÷ 9

	30 ÷ 6 (=) 25 ÷ 5

	8 ÷ 2 (>) 8 ÷ 4
