Word Problems

Look at this example:


	
	
It's a good idea to draw a picture of a word problem. In this case you could draw five boxes and draw five cookies in each box. Maybe your picture would look something like this:


	
	
Maybe you wouldn't make your cookies purple and maybe you wouldn't make your boxes light green, but you can see how this picture is supposed to show five boxes each containing five cookies.
