Subtracting Tens

You can do these problems step-by-step like this:




  50 - 20 = 

  STEP ONE: Subtract ones column

     50
   - 20
   ------
      0

  STEP TWO: Subtract tens column

     50
   - 20
   ------
     30

A short-cut you can use is to just subtract the digits in the tens column and remember to put a zero at the end of your answer.
