Here's a problem in which it is not necessary to regroup:


   33

  ----

When we add up the digits in the ones column we get 6. So, we are done with the ones column and there is no need to regroup.


   33
  +43
  ----
    6

Next we add up all the numbers in the tens column:


   33
  +43
  ----
   76

Here's another example:

37 +46 ----	Problem without answer
1 37 +46 ---- 3	Adding the 7 and 6 in the ones column we get 13. We take the 3 from 13 and place it in the ones column of the answer and we carry the 1 above the tens column above the addends.
1 37 +46 ---- 83	We add up the 1, 3, and 4 in the tens column.
