More Small Change

There are several ways you can combine coins to reach a target amount:



TARGET: 45¢

	QUARTERS	1	1	1	0
	DIMES		2	1	0	0
	NICKLES		0	2	4	8
	PENNIES		0	0	0	5

Here's another example:


TARGET: 26¢

	QUARTERS	1	0	0	0
	DIMES		0	2	2	0
	NICKLES		0	1	0	5
	PENNIES		1	1	6	1

NOTE: Spend time going over these examples and add a few more combinations not listed in these examples. Make up a few more targets for the student to make coin combinations for. Use real coins if possible to help the student reach the target values.

In the next applet the student will use the arrow key to place location of input. Warning: The student will be expected to produce two DIFFERENT combinations of coins for the target amount. Also the student may not use more than 9 pennies to reach a target.
