Small Change

There are several ways you can combine coins to make 55¢:



TARGET: 55¢

	QUARTERS	2	1	1	0
	DIMES		0	2	3	5
	NICKLES		1	2	0	0
	PENNIES		0	0	0	5

Here's another example: There are several ways you can combine coins to make 23¢:


TARGET: 23¢

	QUARTERS	0	0	0	0
	DIMES		2	1	1	0
	NICKLES		0	2	1	4
	PENNIES		3	3	8	3

NOTE: Spend time going over these examples and add a few more combinations not listed in these examples. Make up a few more targets for the student to make coin combinations for. Use real coins if possible to help the student reach the target values.
