Lesson One hundred forty-two: Adding Coins

  +   +   +   +   = 50 ¢

NOTE: Have the student inspect actual pennies, nickles, and dimes. Explain that a penny is worth one cent, a nickle is worth 5 cents, and a dime is worth 10 cents. Have the student practice counting up the value of groups of dimes or groups of nickles or groups of pennies.
