Lesson Eighty-six: Comparing Numbers

Comparing Numbers

There are symbols which can be used to compare two numbers:

  >  GREATER THAN
  <  LESS THAN
  =  EQUAL

Here are some examples showing how these symbols can be used:

   74 > 43			15 < 21

   66 = 66			82 > 70

  55 > 27	Means that 55 is larger than 27.

  67 < 99	Means that 67 is smaller than 99.

  81 = 81	Means that 81 is equal to 81.

NOTE: Spend time going over examples like these. Present a number pair (with space between them) and have the student decide which symbol to draw between the numbers.
