Addition Word Problems

	One pile has 3 toy cars.
	Another pile has 4 toy cars.
	How many toy cars are there in all?


To find the answer: 3 + 4 =
ANSWER: 7

	One pile has 5 cookies.
	Another pile has 3 cookies.
	How many cookies are there in all?


To find the answer: 5 + 3 =
ANSWER: 8

NOTE: Read these problems with the student. Have the student answer the problems. Make up a few more problems like these and have the student answer each problem. You may need to help the student read the problems in the activity part of this lesson.
