Ways to get a sum of five:

You can also reach five with 0+5 or 5+0.

Ways to get a sum of six:

You can also reach six with 0+6 or 6+0.

NOTE: Work with the student to list all the ways of reaching a sum of four and three. Draw pictures like the ones shown on the page or use objects along with the number sentences.
