Confused Words

Certain words are often the victims of mistaken identity. They look or sound a lot like other words and so people sometimes confuse them. Here are a few such words:

Here are a few more frequently confused words:


	advice/advise			casual/causal

	coma/comma			a lot/allot

	are/our				angle/angel


Multiple Meanings

Many words have more than a single meaning. Here are some examples:


  pass:		1) low area between mountains
		2) to go by something

  stamp:	1) postage
		2) step on

  spring:	1) source of water
		2) coil

  meal:		1) ground up grain
		2) time to eat

  mine:		1) belonging to me
		2) tunnel
