Irregular Pluralization
Nouns come in a singular form (when you are talking about one of something)
and a plural form (when you are talking about more than one of something).
Most nouns can be pluralized by adding an "s" to the end of the noun in one
way or another:
SINGULAR PLURAL
swing swings
pretzel pretzels
mask masks
valley valleys
fly flies
beaver beavers
trapper trappers
inch inches
Some nouns are pluralized without adding an "s" to the end of the noun.
These nouns are considered irregular in the way they are pluralized.
SINGULAR PLURAL
goose geese
mouse mice
foot feet
louse lice
tooth teeth
man men
sheep sheep
deer deer
You should notice that the plural and singular forms of "sheep" and "deer"
are the same. This can be confusing at times.
