Prepositions
Here are some prepositions:
on near under
by through beneath
in over around
Prepositions are useful for describing where two nouns are in relation to
each other. For instance, consider the following example:
Jill is standing by the large palm.
In this example the preposition "by" helps us to picture where Jill is
compared to the large palm. We would form a very different mental picture if
we used the prepositions "in" or "under" instead of "by".
Here are some more prepositions in actual sentences.
Sam spent the night under the bridge.
Sue poured the water on the dog.
Doug ran around the yard.
