Verbs

A verb is an action word. It names something someone or something does. Here are some easily recognized verbs: 


	throw		sit		jump

	walk		run		roll

	build		break		crack

	said		read		sat
Here are some of these verbs used in sentences: 

	He cracked the egg.

	The egg rolled on the table.

	Jill walks in the woods on Sundays.

	The beavers built a dam.
The verb names the action performed by someone or something.
