Making Plurals

A singular noun can be made into a plural noun. A singular noun names just one person, place, or thing. A plural noun names more than one. Often a singular noun is changed to a plural name simply by adding an s onto the end of it.

	SINGULAR NOUN PLURAL NOUN
	  cat cats
	  dog dogs
	  barn barns
	  chair chairs
	  plate plates
	  light lights
	  planet planets
	  plant plants
	  chicken chickens
	  check checks

The rule for words like this is:

	JUST ADD -S

None of the words that are pluralized by just adding -s end with ch or sh for instance.
