Proper Nouns

Proper nouns name persons, places, or things just like regular nouns. The difference is that they name specific persons, places, or things. Proper nouns always start with a capital letter. Here are a few examples:


	Nevada			Idaho			Las Vegas

	Arc Dome		Boundary Peak		Elko

	Mexico			Death Valley		Furnace Creek

	Lake Tahoe		Nye County		Snake River Valley

The names of people are also proper nouns.

	Bob		Sue		Ralph	

	Dr. Jones	Ms. Smith	President Clinton

	Sue Smith	Joe Jones	Peggy Sue Elsworth

Even the name of pets are proper nouns:

                                                                                
	Lassie		Rover		Fido

	Killer		Bruno		Felix
