Contractions
Contractions are formed from two words as shown on the following list:

Although contractions really don't spare us from writing many letters, they
are a tiny bit shorter than the two words they substitute for. Here are a
few examples of contractions in action:
Jill didn't drink the bottle of water.
Joe couldn't impress the judges at the talent show.
Jane said, "Let's go to the store."
