The -ght Letter Pattern

This list includes six words which contain the -ght letter pattern.

	bright tight enlighten

	freight taught ought

The letters g and h in this pattern are silent. They don't get pronounced. They are just sort of there and you have to write them down or else the word isn't spelled correctly.

The longest word on the list is:

	precipitation

This word has a full thirteen letters. When remembering how to spell long words like this you should break it into shorter segments like this:

	pre-cip-it-a-tion

Breaking a word into parts like this will make it easier to remember how to spell it. None of the parts of precipitation is difficult. They are pretty much spelled more or less the way you'd expect them to be spelled. So, saying the word to yourself slowly in parts like this is one thing you can do to remember how to spell the word.
