VERBS

Some of the spelling words can be used as verbs:


	give	drive	strive	supply	tunnel	strip

A verb names an action. Actions are things that people, places, or things do.

  PEOPLE: Jill ran down the road.

  PLACES: Idaho grows a lot of potatoes.

  THINGS: The rock rolled down the mountain.

The DIS- Prefix

The dis- prefix generally means not or the opposite or absence of something. This makes the meaning of some of the words listed above clear. Consider these examples:


	dislike - not to like something or someone

	disprove - to prove something or someone wrong

	disagree - not to agree with someone


    It's famous for its potatoes.
