The Pre- Prefix

Some words beginning with the pre- prefix are related. Take preempt as an example:

  preempt

  preemption

  preemptive

  preemptor

All these words have to do with "having the right to do or get something before others." They are just different forms of the same word and all have the pre- prefix at the beginning.

Here are a few more examples before we continue on.

	preconceive predial

	preamble prehistoric

	precognition premed

	prehensile premolar
