The Pre- Prefix
Some words beginning with the pre- prefix are related. Take preempt as an
example:
preempt
preemption
preemptive
preemptor
All these words have to do with "having the right to do or get something
before others." They are just different forms of the same word and all have
the pre- prefix at the beginning.
