Commas and Lists
Some times the lists in sentences can get pretty long.
My mom went to the store and bought pizza, oranges, ice cream, bread,
eggs, turnips, carrots, and ham for our family to eat.
In an example like this it might be better to just write something like
this.
My mom went to the store and bought a lot of food for our family to eat.
However, commas make it possible for you to include long lists in your
sentences like this:
We visited Maine, Vermont, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia,
Kentucky, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas on our trip
last summer.
