Science and Fields of Study

There are a lot of sciences and fields of study that you've probably heard of. The names of most of them end with the postfix -ology, which means to study. Here are a bunch of examples:


  archaeology - study of human artifacts
  biology - study of life
  ecology - study of environment
  geology - study of earth's crust
  pathology - study of disease
  psychology - study of mind
  sociology - study of society
  zoology - study of animals

Here are some sciences and fields of study that don't end with the -ology postfix:
 
  acoustics - study of sound
  botany - study of plants
  chemistry - study of substances
  horticulture - study of gardening
  linguistics - study of language
  syntax - study of sentence structure
